Hello Christine Yong,

These Microsims are basically developed by European Telecommunication Standards Institute or ETSI. These are Sims which is much smaller from the mini sim used to fit into devices which don't acquire much space. It is mainly found in IPAD and IPhones 4s and 4. It is also an effective use for cell phone wrist watches and cameras to connect to wireless networks.

Its difference is, like I said, its much smaller. The Minisim sizes, 15×25 while the microsim sizes, 12×15. Microsims and Minisims actually don't have any difference. The only difference it could make is if you install a Universal Subscriber Identity Module or USIM which could provide a more-comprehensive phonebook and a greater security.

This microsim could also be used for sim slots but you'll be using a microsim to sim adaptor. Well, some netizens have tried cutting a sim card to form a minisim but you need to be accurate and you need to have good hands, for a simple mistake could prevent it from working. You have to be a very precise worker and try real hard not to break the chip inside as this could turn into a very expensive experiment.

Given the amount of space the microsims a lot, more handsets seems to be in favor of them, the new Motorola RAZR and Nokia Lumia 800. Atop of that IPADs and IPhones.
