You may need to install SANE on your Linux operating system in order to install the scanner. Please visit the URL http://www.sane-project.org/sane-mfgs.html to check either your Panasonic scanner model is supported by SANE or not. If it is supported, install the SANE by typing “rpm -iVh sane-backends-VERSION.rpm”, replace the word “sane-backends-VERSION” with the word mentioned under “Backend” column again the model of your printer at the webpage where you have checked the support for your scanner. Once you are done, type “Scanimage” at the command prompt, SANE will start finding your device. If no device is found when you run “Scanimage -L”.  Now you can use “Xsane” as your scanning software.
