Infinit is very popular these days because it allows users to transfer data from computer to another without going through he cloud. How is it possible for Infinit to do so? Is it safe to use this service? Each and every program has some cons, what are the cons of Infinit?
How to use Infinit? Is it safe?
Infinit technology originated from Julien Quintard’s PhD during his studies at the University of Cambridge. Unlike cloud-based file sharing programs like Dropbox that saves your file in the cloud unsafely, Infinit transfers files directly from one computer (the sender) to another computer (the recipient) without relying on the cloud. Infinit relies on end-to-end encryption, data that is transferred is completely private; this means that only the sender and recipient have access to the data. Bank level encryption algorithms such as AES-256 and RSA 2048 are used to ensure the highest level of security.
The main frustration that users experienced:
There is no address book or any other way of easily saving contacts. For now, recipient’s username or email addresses have to be entered manually, where after a list will be displayed with users who you share files with frequently with.
Both the sender and recipient have to have the app running for the files to be transferred.
