I have site which is currently in Joomla 1.5 but I want to update it to Joomla 2.5.
I am seeking a way to do it correctly without any lose of look and data. I also want to know how can I update the extensions currently I have in my site?
Updating Joomla is not simple, you should be very careful to keep the previous look and data from being lost. Actually it is not upgrading rather than moving to 2.5 as there is no path and relation between these two versions. The process is very long. 1. Update your Joomla 1.5
2. Update all extensions for your Joomla, check their official pages to ensure they are updated to the latest version.
3. Make backup of all your data, you can use http://www.xcloner.com/
4. Upgrade your Joomla with jUpgrade. It is a Joomla extension which makes your upgrade very easy, it is advised to use this extension especially if you have some work in progress: http://extensions.joomla.org/search?q=jupgrade
