My Symbian phone comes with a lot of manufacturer-installed apps that I do not need. I tried to delete it but the delete function is not working (grayed out). How will I be able to unlock these locked apps and uninstall it successfully?
Generally mobile manufactured companies add some important software in their product. Usually they added their partner or their own product related software in mobile phone. In maximum time these types of software are not so needed to use for every user. Mobile manufactured companies do that as their business purpose, not for helping purpose.
Some software’s have not any uninstall way for users. So usually user faces this type of problem such as like you. You can’t delete these software form your mobile. You may delete these software by connect with computer and then use mobile flash tools for remove or uninstall default software’s.

As far as my knowledge you can’t remove all the manufacturer-installed applications except some which are not locked. The delete function is not available for this kind of applications as they are locked in the systems. Those apps are locked because there are many systems apps among those by which your phone or device run. If you accidentally wipe out that kind of system app then your device will malfunction.
If you are pretty sure that the apps which you want to remove are not system apps then to remove those you have to modify your phone. There are various ways to do this. I Cannot give you those as techyv does not allow such solutions. Best way is to Google for app's that can definitely do what you asked for.
I’m sorry but no, you cannot. Those applications on your phone that come pre-installed when you bought is there for good. You won’t be able to delete or uninstall them. Even factory resetting the device won’t help because it will only restore the apps that came with the firmware. The apps that you can only uninstall or delete are the ones you installed manually.
But I know the games pre-installed on the phone can be deleted like the ones on my Nokia 6610 phone. I tried deleting one of the games on my phone since I don’t play it to free up some space in the memory and I was able to delete it. So you probably just need to check which apps can be deleted and which cannot.
