Hello everyone,

Please provide me steps to windows 7 encrypt a folder without using third party source. I want to encrypt my folder but I’m unable to provide any password to it.

Step1. Right click on the folder you want to encrypt and select properties.

Step2. Select advance property of the folder under Attributes panel.

Step3. Check the Encrypt the contents to secure data.
Step4. Click OK.
Note: If the option is in disable or looks in grey color and you are unable to do any change, it means that you are using home edition of Windows 7 which do not support this feature. Or maybe the location of file in the hard drive is not formatted in NTFS.
