Hi. Before learning how to start Active Directory domain services, first, let us learn how to install the AD snap-in. Click on start, open the command prompt and then run as the administrator. Then, click on continue, type the command and press enter. Click on OK to close the dialogue box. Then, select the start menu, click on Run, type MMC in the box and then click on OK. Then, click on continue. Click on AD Schema under the available snap-ins, click on Add and then OK. Save the console by clicking on save option from the file menu.

The AD DS can be stopped and restarted by clicking on start, selecting the administrative tools and then clicking on computer management. Click on the services and applications twice and then click on services. AD DS can be stopped by right-clicking the AD Domain Services and then clicking on stop. You can also stop other services in addition to this by reviewing them and clicking on yes. To restart the service, right-click the AD Domain Services and click on start.

Hope we helped.
