Hello all! Please help to setup ILO or IPMI on HP Proliant DL160 G6. There is no OS there yet, so my question is basically how to setup it without OS? Is it possible? DO you have to pay for those interfaces and if yes, then how and where I can get them?

HP ILO is to manage the lifecycle of HP Proliant servers. No OS is required to install ILO.
  1. Shut down the server, then Power on the server
  2. During the power on cycle, HP displays few messages on processors and memory
  3. Then it waits with a message 'Integrated Lights-Out Advanced Press F8'. See screen shot attached
  4. At this message, press F8
  5. It will take you to the ILO configuration
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions or refer to the HP manual
Note: You may need to set the 'Power on' in Advanced System ROM Options" to "Disabled" in the system BIOS prior to above steps
Yes, you have to get a license from HP. The ILO may be downloaded from HP website.
