As you know the first thing you need to have is a wireless card installed and working.

When you’re ready, let’s go on:

I’ll tell you the steps, in numbers so you can follow them exactly.

  1. Go to Start and select control panel.
  2. Go to network and Internet.
  3. Navigate to Network and Sharing Center.
  4. On the left panel, click on “Manage Wireless Networks".
  5. Now, click on add.
  6. In this windows select “Create an ad hoc network”.
  7. Now continue the steps as written on the screen.
  8. After the connection is ready, navigate to Network and sharing Center.
  9. On the left panel, go to “Change adapter settings”.
  10. Right click on the connection you connect to while browsing the Internet and click “properties”.
  11. Go to sharing window and turn on the first button and select your wireless network from the dropdown list.

Now, you’re ready and you can connect to the wireless Network you have made.

Here are the things needed to setup wireless connection.

  • Your PC or laptop must have a wireless adapter.   Newer laptops have built-in wireless capability.  If yours is a desktop do check device manager.  Here’s how.
  • Go to Control Panel.
  • Click on Performance and Maintenance.
  • Click on System.
  • Click on the Hardware Tab and then click Device Manager.
  • Look for Network Adapters and click on the plus sign beside it.  You should see a wireless adapter listed.  If there’s none, then you need to buy one.
  • You need a wireless access point or a wireless router.
  • Usually, wireless security on the wireless router is disabled by default.  I advise you to change it.  Just follow the router’s manual in changing it.  In the end, you must have a unique SSID or a wireless network name and of course a secured wireless network.

Hope this helps.
