How to set pop up reminder for Windows 7?

I have windows 7 installed and was hoping if someone will tell if it is possible to set pop up reminder for various things in windows 7? If there is any other way, also tell me. Any kind of help would be appreciated.

How to set pop up reminder for Windows 7?

Hello.

The following are the steps to be followed.

1. Go to start menu,  type "tasks" in the search field.

2.  after Windows 7 searches the results, click on  Schedule tasks as shown in the figure below.

3.  once the Task Scheduler opens, select the Action menu, and choose "Create Basic Task"

4.  Type what ever you want to set as your reminder, and then click Next.

5. In The next screen select  your choice: For one-time notification, choose "One Time"; for  repeats, choose "Daily" more than once a week select "Weekly" several times per month select "Monthly" 

6.Then  click the "Next" button, and select date and time for the notification.

7. Click Next, and select "Display a message":so that Windows 7 lets you type some text that will show up in your on-screen alert message
