Hi. To learn how to run a virus scan on a Mac, download the Sophos Virus protection, install it and then save the information provided by Sophos in a text file. Enter the username and password for the product license. Browse the downloaded file and DMG file twice to launch the installer. Follow the instructions appearing online and enter the username and password for the application. Select the available action option and then clean up the threat. Select the available action option and restart the PC if required. Select the option to scan the local drives and then click on done to run the scan on the PC.
Once the virus gets detected, it can be removed by closing the scan window and opening the activity monitor by clicking on the utility folder. Select all the processes and look for the app and select it. Then, select the quit option and quit the activity monitor application. Open the Applications folder and then locate the app and drag the virus to the trash.
