How to rip music using Nero 5.5?

I want to rip music from an original CD using my Nero 5.5.xx.  Can I do that?  If not, what is a good free program that you use?  Do they all rip into .WAV files or can I specify an output file format?  Is there a difference between .CDA files and those files from the rip?  Are there pros and cons of using MP3 files vs. WMA?

Hello Girlie,

If the CD that the music in on is not password protected, then you just open the CD and then copy the music from it and then paste to a folder on your computer.

But if the CD is password protected or does not allow for its contents to be copied or duplicated due to copyright issues, then you cannot copy the music.
