I am working as a professional transactionist. I am using a laptop with an operating system of Windows 7 Starter. I was encoding documents and was about to send the files but suddenly I encountered an error code showing "999 Unable to process request at this time — error 999". What does this mean? How do I fix this?

Hi Kristine. Error 999 is common error for Yahoo sites, more especially on yahoo mail. This pop up would normally state that it is just temporary and that to try again at a later time. Refreshing the page will sometimes fix it. Its annoying but the best thing that can be done is to be patient with this error. It may also pop up because of an overflowing questions or searches on yahoo service by just a single IP address. You might call it overused. This may also mean a spyware or malware infection, so if this is the case you can run a scan on your system. This can also be an effect of  a problem within the computer system registry, it will cause browsers not to function properly and a full system scan can be done, using a registry cleaner. Powercycling modem, that is to unplug and plug it back in will refresh modem's IP and sometimes it might generate a new one thus allowing you to continue with what you are currently working with.

This error is related specifically to the application and not with Windows. If the action requires you to connect to the internet, you need to check and verify that your internet connection is working. If your computer is connected to the router using a cable, disconnect the network cable from the network port then plug it back in.

Open your web browser then visit a website and then try clicking some links. Verify that your internet connection is working. If this doesn’t work, disconnect the other end of the cable from the router then connect it back. If this doesn’t work, restart the router. If the Wi-Fi router has a power button, press to turn off the router then unplug it from the power for about twenty (20) seconds.

Press any button on the router to discharge any leftover power or to power cycle. After this, plug the router back to the power and turn it on. When the router is ready, try logging in again.
