Its so easy for Windows 7

  • just go to My computer click "organize" (below the address bar) then
  • go to "folder and search option"
  • Click view tab
  • Uncheck "hide extensions for known file types"

For windows xp it's just the same way, just open folder option from the menu bar.

Hi,

Where do you use this? If it's in the desktop this is just easy. Right-click and Rename. If you mean to rename the file extension it will need another software like converter to do this. Example MP3 file you need to convert it on the CD file, from mp3 to .wav. In this job you really need another software to do this, there are many converter available on line.

Here is the simple steps using Windows

Start>Control Panel>>Folder Options>Click on the "View" Tab
If done uncheck hide extension
click okay or Apply

After the files to be rename or highlighted then press F2 or right-click the files you want to select and Rename it. As you can see that all of your file selected will be disappear except for one. Encode your new name, press Enter. Is just that easy one of your file become rename already this is just the format "renametext (1)" and "renametext (2)".

Thanks,
