Hi,

I just want to ask how to remove the Folder Options item from all Windows Explorer window that is under the Tools menu. I want to do this because I'm not the only one using my computer; I want to make sure that my hidden files and folders will remain hidden and not be activated or set to "Show hidden files and folders" easily by any other user by going to the Folder Options then clicking on the View tab and select  "Show hidden files and folders". Below is the screenshot of what I'm referring to:

You can remove the “Folder Options” by changing the (gpedit.msc)  or Windows Group Policy editor

  1. Launch “Start” then Click “Run” input “gpedit.msc” and click “Enter”
  2. Once you see the proceeding Window Screen, input this:
  3. User Configuration >> Administrative Templates >> Windows Components>> Windows Explorer to the folder.
  4. Then search for the “Removes the Folder Options Menu from the Tools Menu” click it twice and choose “Enable” then “Ok”

If you change your mind, and you wanted to put back the “Folder Options” menu in the “Tools Menu” just simply follow the method I provided at the top, and choose “Not Configured” icon option pertaining  the “Removes the Folder Options Menu from the Tools Menu”.
