Hi Abets,

I think what is causing you the problem is a virus that hides your folders and you cannot show them even by showing the hidden files and folders. Try using this solution

1- Open your command prompt by going to start-> all programs-> accessories-> Command Prompt and then type the following command "attrib -H -R -S /S /D G:*.*" where G: is your USB drive letter.

2- Now you should see the folders that was hidden by the virus.

3- You should scan your flash drive for viruses by an up to date Antivirus program

If that doesn't work then the files may be gone and you need to restore them using a file recovery software. Recuva is a great choice for you to try but it is important not to transfer any files to the flash drive to make the possibility for recovering your lost files greater.

Hope this helps.

Hello dear,

You do not need to worry about this. I have also had this problem and I have a good solution for you. Attach your external hard drive to your computer and go to command prompt or DOS.

Type this command in all of the drives separately.

For example, first run this in the C drive, then in the D drive, and so on.

Type “chkdsk” on all drives using DOS. It will scan all the files and folders. When it finishes unhide all files from folder options, and you will see all drives. There will be a folder with a name like "Found.001", and these folders will be filled with files with the .chk extension. Just rename these files with a proper name.

For example if a file is huge and has 600 MB of space on the disk, rename it as 1.mpg and it will be a media file.

I hope this helps you understand the problem.

Thanks.
