Hi. To learn how to password protect a web page; you need to understand four simple steps. The first one being generating the code by going to .htaccess tool and typing in the details. After you are done, generate the files and keep it open in a separate tab because it will be needed later. The next step is to create the .htaccess file by logging in to the control panel on one.com in a new browser and opening the file manager. Then, click on create, choose a file, give it a name .htaccess and click on enter. Next, edit the .htaccess file and enter the code for the file. The next step should be to generate a password for the .htpasswd file by clicking on create and choosing a file. Next, name the file as .htpasswd and click on enter.
Then, edit the .htpasswd file and enter in it the generate code. Towards the end, verify if the password works or not by going to the website and entering the credentials. If you are given access to the website, then your website has successfully been made secure.
