How to open dwg in acrobat reader? My friend emailed me some dwg files and wasn’t sure if I can open it using acrobat reader, I need your opinion or suggestion on the right software that can handle dwg files. I really need to open those files as soon as possible. Thank you.

Hi Chloe,The DWG file is cannot be able to open in a different reader application. It is a file that only Autodesk AutoCAD Application can access. DWG file is a drawing file that is used to edit images from 2D to 3D type of drawing. AutoCAD is used to open the DWG file. It contain different command to trim, Edit, Copy, Extrude, and many others. You can make presentations to the DWG file with the use of the AutoCD application. It is Commonly use to draw prototype and 3D engineering structures. Hope this help.

.dwg is an abbreviation of drawing. We all know that an Acrobat reader or an Adobe reader is a universal reader in its nature. But it cannot reads some file extension all the time. Adobe Reader supports the dwg format (see https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/supported-file-formats-acrobat-reader.html ), but in some cases mostly does not allow us to open such dwg's formats. If you try to open a dwg format on Adobe acrobat reader, a prompt says " Adobe Reader could not open the file because it is either a supported file type or because the file has been damaged". Its because Adobe readers is intended only for opening, reading, and viewing of pdf (Portable Document Format) files.
