Hello and good day!

Norton Antivirus was known for its malware protection, hunting and identifying viruses including e – mail spam filtering and phishing protection. Speaking of e – mails, I want to secure my computer from bad viruses from other people that would be sending me viruses, intentional or accidental. So guys, does any one of you know Norton Live scan free? Any help would be nice.

Greetings Leonard S Lockhart,

Norton doesn't have any free permanently free software (only free trials) that will protect your PC from malicious e-mails. However, there is a good software that has good ratings and it's free of charge to do the job you require.

It's named Avira and can be downloaded here http://www.avira.com/en/index

Hope this helps you,

Hello Mr Leonard,

If you buy Norton then it will very much protect you from all kind of threats. However there are few good utilities that can protect your system from e-mail spam filtering and phishing threats. Check these out :

1. Spam Terrier : Self-learning anti-spam engine, Integration to email programs, behaviour-driven detection and Whitelist and blacklist option.

2. G-Lock Spam Combat : Free Spam filtering of POP3 and IMAP accounts, Block spam by country of origin, Delete spam from email servers, and Recover deleted emails.

3. Spamato : Free email plug-in for Microsoft Outlook, Thunderbird and Mozilla.

4. Comodo AntiSpam : Free anti-spam from the maker of Comodo Firewall.

5. SpamBayes : Supports Outlook, Windows Live Mail, Thunderbird, and other email clients for Windows.

6. Spamihilator : Spam filtering for POP3 and IMAP accounts, Has option for secure connection over SSL/TLS.

Hope this helps. Best regards.
