We want a shopping cart solution that would integrate well with Joomla CMS and also provide good user support.

Do we need to match an opencart template to Joomla or will opencart template will adapt to Joomla 1.5 version?

I have used opencart templates for Joomla 1.5 someday ago. The templates were really good.

There are templates for CMS system too. I found the templates from https://eshopalot.com/ .

You may visit too for your desired template. Alternatively you may get templates from http://www.themelock.com/ecommerce/opencart .

I hope you will get yours one. The opencart templates will adapt to Joomla 1.5 version.

Most of the components, including opencart have the option to use the default template css instead of its own. That means that your shopping cart should fit nicely into your Joomla website all by itself.
 
However, this may depend on your default Joomla template. In case your template has only basic css coded, you will need to add some extra lines with special shopping chart classes to adapt the shopping chart to the Joomla template.
