Howdy guys,
I would like some tips in making a cool yet simple background. I prefer tips involving with different layers, blending options and the rest. Please send me a detail and very easy to learn tutorial. Thanks in advance!
First and the most common background used in Photoshop is done by using the gradient tool. There are many types of gradient e.g. linear or radial gradient to produce a simple yet elegant look. Next thing we would do is to put some texture. Commonly used texture is the cloud effects found from your filter. Just simply select filter > render > clouds. After you have done that just select the blending options to overlay to blend it beautifully the two layers.
Now to add some more textures, add new layer then choose a nice textured brush.. Normally the brush strokes are placed in the borders. Try to change the opacity to your liking. Then there you have it! a nice and simple background for your work! Have a nice day!
You can use different images as to your background. Just place all the different images to its individual layer, crop some of the images as needed. You can also change the blending modes of each layer to have different effects. Make use of your creativity to unleash a powerful design. Thanks and good luck!

You could also use the custom shape tool or any brushes that give you a shape. Then make a few of these shapes and change its color so that each shape should have different color. Arrange these to your liking and change also its opacity to different shapes. You can also have a nice background by doing this.
Simplicity is beauty. So the less complicated the photo, the nicer it is for the viewer to look at. I suggest Simple gradient tool will do the job. At least 3 colors will do, so do not make your background so complex because it is not the subject. People will not focus on that. Again, make your background simple.
