How to make my usb bootable?

Here are simple steps on making your usb bootable.

1. Plug your USB hard drive into any open USB port on your computer.

2. Double-click on the "My Computer" icon on your desktop.

3. Right-click on the icon that represents your USB hard drive. Click the "Properties" option from the list of options that appear.

4. Click on the tab labeled "Autoplay" from the window that appears. Next, select the USB hard drive from the list of devices that you have the option to make bootable. When finished, click the "OK" button located toward the bottom right corner of that window. Your USB hard drive will now be bootable the next time you restart your computer.

Making your USB bootable is very essential nowadays. You can use your USB disk to install OS or other software once you make it bootable. To do this, there are many tools that you can download for free. MakeBootable is one good example. It is a free and easy to use utility to make your USB bootable. It doesn't require any installation. But it works only with USB device that uses Phison's chip and FAT file system. Another utilities that you can use are, HP USB Format Utility and HP USB Boot Utility. It is one of the best software for creating bootable disk but the service is not free. It costs $31 but you can download and try the trial version.

Once you have successfully created your bootable USB disk, you need to change your BIOS settings and set the boot device setting and set your USB on the first boot device to boot from your USB after rebooting your computer.
