Good day Jorge!

This is an easy task to do if you explore Facebook a lot.

All you have to do is to:

1. Login

2. Privacy settings

3. Look for "How you connect "

4. Click Edit Settings

5. You will see "Who can look you up using the email address or phone number" set it to "Friends".

6. Click "Done"

To check if it is really working, login another account and see if it worked.

If you are experiencing problems with this, please don't hesitate to give me a beep.

God bless!

Regards,

Angeles A.

Hi Jorge,

As a user I also want to have privacy since I do not want everybody to send me anything on Facebook if they're not my friends. As for my page, I just disabled the message option. So everybody who are not in my friend's list are not able to send me any message. But the Friend request remains enable since there are a lot of people out there I knew or I want to be friends with who are not in my friend's list. So when they get to see my page, they are able to send me friend request. In your case, you want to disable the Add friend request.

Facebook respect's each user's privacy. So they put settings and options for you to disable it.

  • Go to Home
  • On Scroll down menu go to Privacy settings.
  • Go to how you connect
  • There's an option Who can send you friend requests/messages etc
  • Click on the options for your privacy settings
  • Click done
In this setting, you are in control to enable or disable your privacy.
If you choose to disable the friend request, then everybody in Facebook who look up to your page
won't be able to find the Add Friend Request button.

This setting applies also in emails.

If you don't want people to be able to search for your name and find your Facebook profile using the Facebook people search. You can change your privacy setting to prevent this.

You can also set your profile will not appear in the result when people search by using your name.

For this setting follow the steps below:

  • Login to your account.
  • Click the button "account".
  • Select  "Privacy setting".
  • To control who can search your name, select the option of your choice.

People can search you by email but not using Facebook name only who know you.
