I am looking to buy my first new laptop. And noticed that there are different times for the amount of battery life. Will this effect how long the laptop will need to charge? Is a longer lasting battery time mean it will take longer to recharge before I can use it?
How Long To Charge My Laptop When I First Buy It?
If you are buying a new laptop, try to charge it for at least 24 hours constantly, at first shot. This will help your system to get fully charged and will extend the life of your battery. Do not worry about overcharging. Laptop batteries nowadays are made such a way, that it will stop being charged, once it's fully charged.
However, if you are having Lithium ion batteries, then charging for so long is not required. As they are set for use from the beginning.
Longer lasting batteries does not mean that you need to charge them longer. Your battery life actually depends on the quality of the product and how good you handle your laptop.
