Hi Britanny,

Before you can install Windows Server R2, you need to first make sure that the minimum system requirements are met. The processor need to be 1.4GHz 64-bit processor, 512Mb-32GB of RAM, 32GB of Hard disk, DVD drive, Super VGA 800 x 600, Keyboard and mouse and internet access.

Before you start the setup, you need to disconnect to any UPS devices, back up your servers, disable your virus protection software, run the windows memory diagnostics tool, provide mass storage drivers, allow firewall rules to allow installation and prepare you AD environment updates.

You then need to create a forest by logging into the schema master and make sure member of the Administrator > copy the contents of the supportadprep folder > open command prompt > go to Adprep folder > run adprep /forestprep > allow the application to complete.

After creating the forest, you need to prepare a domain. To do that, login to the infrastructure master > copy the contents of supportadprep folder > open command window > run adprep /domainprep /gpprep > allow process to complete.
