Hello Mrmax,

In OS 7 Device Stage can make the process of installing a local printer easy, The local printer plugged directly into the PC that is the easy way to install the printer if you do not have network. Well when you plug in to PC USB port OS-7 is noticing a new device and installing drivers it is pretty simple if your printer installs correctly then no need to install the manufacturer's software, when your printer is installed correctly it will appear in the Device Stage Device and printer window as i attach sample pictures.

If you have a new printer, connecting it to your computer would be easy. But before you can use it, you have to install the driver first or the printer software. The device will not be functional if the required driver or software is not installed. When you buy a printer, it should always include an installation CD or DVD which contains the driver software.

But if your printer does not include an installation CD in the package, you can always download it from the manufacturer’s website. Also, if the package does not include an installation CD, the store should inform you that you need to download the driver software from the manufacturer’s website. For HP printers, go to HP Printer Customer Support – Software and Driver Downloads.

Here, enter your product’s serial number or model number then click to search. When your device is located, click your product to go to the download page. Go to the drivers download section or tab. The page should detect your operating system automatically. If the page displays a different operating system, click to change then select your correct operating system.

Download and install all available drivers and software for your device.
