Starting a new type so OS and using it, is bit hard always at first I recommended you to read more and more article about Linux because it is different from windows. As you mention how to install app on that OS you have to know that you can’t install any app with the .exe file directly which can be done in windows. You can use software called wine to install this kind of soft. You find the wine after installing the Linux automatically. That mean you don’t really need to install it and for farther information like find it use it you can see this site I think it is the best.

Hi William,

First of all you can’t directly install from .exe files on Linux system as environment is different from that of windows. But still if you want to install apps using “.exe” setup file you will need some software’s which can create windows like environment on Linux. There is software called “wine” (http://www.winehq.org) which will help you run “.exe” files.

Also I would like to mention that if you are looking forward to install more applications on you Linux system then get the Linux compatible setup file. Linux compatible files generally will have extensions namely, “.rpm” (red hat package manager), “.tar” (tarball) and “.tar.gz”,”.tgz”(compressed tarball). For further information on how to install those files u can refer  https://www.lifewire.com/learn-how-linux-basics-4102692  .
