Hi, as far as I know Developers need to update their apps to use it, and once the apps are updated they’ll just show up in the passbook. This is why the developers need a few months of beta version before they make it public and make their apps work. But you can still go to this page http://passkit.com/ and check how did passbook works.

You cannot import anything currently as the apps have not built the necessary tools to allow for your gift cards and flight information to appear on passbook. Passbook needs to be updated by the developers since right now they are still using the beta version to allow users to understand what it is all about. You have to give them time but who knows when they will be ready.
