I travel frequently and I was not aware of the band frequency until a month ago. I have a dual and phone that i love but upon arriving in some counties I get no signal. How can I know the right band of that country and how can i set my phone to automatically adapt to the changing band spectrums?

I haven’t used a dual band phone yet since all my previous handsets support quad band. Since you said you love travelling and you always travel and because you are only using a dual band phone, better check GSM Bands Information by Country. This will help you pre-determine the type of GSM bands a country is using if you plan to visit another country in the future.

Majority of the countries listed already support LTE aside from the type of dual band they support. The page shows the map of the world and the designated color of each country or continent. The violet color designates that the country supports GSM 900/GSM 1800 bands which are used in most parts of the world like Europe, Australia, Asia, Africa, and Middle East.

The yellow-orange or yellow color designates GSM 850/GSM 1900 bands which are used in the United States, Mexico, Canada, and the majority of the countries in South America.
