How can I get lost encryption key? I recently encrypted a drive on my personal computer using BitLocker and I mistakenly lost the encryption key. What are the ways or tricks I can use to gain access to the encrypted drive? Without the encryption key, what can I still do with the encrypted drive?
To recover the lost encrypted key, answer any security question which you have kept. Otherwise, you download CrashPlan App and install. In that go to settings>>click on security>>click on forgot link>>answer the security question that you have created>>enter new key password>>renter new key password>>click OK to reset your key password. This is the process with security question enabled. You can also do without security question also. Signin to CrashPlan app. Then change the email id in your account. Then in subscription section, see where the license key is displayed. Copy, paste them and store safely. Now, open CrashPlan App, issue the deauthorize command. Select new account and start backup. Enter the license key in the account settings. Then its done. To access the encrypted drive, connect your hard disk to a new computer and try to access.
