Hi,

I am working in an office as IT trainee and I encountered a problem in the last few days. I have not been able to install any software on the computers because of a permission error. I do not want to ask my supervisor without first talking steps to know more about such an error. Therefore I want to ask the experts here to help me uncover the cause of the error that I have attached below.

Insufficient Permissions for software installation. Your IT department has set restrictions for this software that prevent it from installing on your computer.

I think this is more of a rights problem than a program error. It is clear in the dialog box that a rights policy or restriction in permission is in effect and it is probably the network administrator who implemented the restriction in user rights. This is very common in Microsoft Windows to have full control over the system.

It is done so that only the administrators will be able to install, uninstall, or modify the system to have a full control on the data security. Here, administrators create user accounts for users and are set to limited rights. A limited account is only capable of changing or removing his or her own password, change the picture, theme, and other desktop settings in his or her account, view his or her own files, and view files that are stored in the Shared Documents directory.

In a limited account, you cannot install or uninstall any program. There are also times accessing several applications in the computer is not available for you and will give you an error. These are the applications that require administrator rights to run. Since you have this problem on your computer, you have no choice but to ask the network administrator to install the program for you.
