Hello Kim,

This problem occurs for lot of users who using Adobe Photoshop CS4. One situation might be because of in taskbar properties you might have disabled the option ‘Keep the taskbar on top of other Windows’. Try the Photoshop after you have enabled it if it being disabled.

If not the case this is the solution to enable it back.

  • Open Photoshop.
  • Go to the ‘View’ Menu.
  • Select Screen Mode.
  • And select Standard Screen Mode.

That’s it. Your Windows taskbar will appear under and will stay unless you undo this procedure.

Thank you.

If you are referring the Photoshop “taskbar” to the sidebar or the set of tools on the left side of the workspace, it is the “Tools” palette or the Tools sidebar. If the Tools palette has been disabled accidentally, it can always be displayed or enabled again. To display the Tools palette or sidebar, in Adobe Photoshop, click “Window” then select “Tools” at the bottom of the list.

This should now display the taskbar you are saying or the Tools palette. See if this fixes the problem. But if you are referring to the taskbar at the bottom of the screen, that is the Windows taskbar and it is not part of Adobe Photoshop. If this taskbar has disappeared after launching Photoshop, it must have been set to auto hide.

To lock the Windows taskbar, press CTRL + ESC then when the “Start” menu appears, press ALT + ENTER. In the “Taskbar and Start Menu Properties” window, check “Lock the taskbar” then make sure “Auto-hide the taskbar” is unchecked. Click “OK” and that’s it.
