Yesterday I have decided to update my iPhone firmware. It was my first software update since I got my new iPhone 4, weeks ago from now. I was watching TV while updating a problem that says something about error 1013“. It was so disturbing that I couldn't get to myself but scream why this has occurred in my iPhone.

Anyone who knows how to fix this?

The iPhone "no future's iPhone" could not be updated. An unknown error occurred (1013).

Hello,

This error code will come only if your update connection is denied from apple server (gs.apple.com).

So, please check as below things.

  1. Ensure that you are currently log in with administrator. Check your computer Date, Time and Time Zone settings are correct. Please check your internet connection that, there is no blockage for this web site. Check your iTunes software is updated. Finally check your computer firewall settings. If you use any third party firewall software then please disable it for few mints and then try to update your iPhone.
  2. If same problem you found then please contact with your iPhone vendor.

You have to follow these steps to solve your problem.

  • If you are using a Mac PC then, Run finder.
  • Hold and press Command + Shift key and press G.
  • Now write this, " /private/etc " in the text box and then press go.
  • This will find host folder in directory. Move that file into your desktop.
  • Open the file in an editor of your choice.
  • Delete the line which includes "gs.apple.com" or make a comment by inserting a # before the beginning line. Save changes.
  • Move the file back to where it was. For movement you should enter your username and password.
