Dear Deborh,

Your Keyboard driver might have been corrupted due to which you are facing this problem. If you have the installation CD supplied with your keyboard package, you might use that CD to reinstall your keyboard driver.

If you have lost he CD then Search Google for < your keyboard make > space < your keyboard model no. > driver, and download the driver from a trusted link.

Alternatively, you can restore your system settings to a previous date if your operating system supports this feature.

Deborah,

It is common to get Hotkey errors from time to time, the good news is they can be fixed pretty easily. In order to fix things you need to make sure your hotkey.exe file is still in working order. If your "exe" file is not working just reload it from another computer with the same operating system or use the original disk that came with your keyboard.

If you do reload the hotkey.exe file be sure to take it to the proper place on your computer. Another cause for your hotkeys to quit working is that your computer may have a virus or spyware that has corrupted your files.

To correct this problem you should run an antivirus program to check for this. One last are to check your hotkey.exe file is in your Windows registry. If you run a registry cleaner it should take care of any problems you have in this area.

Hi Deborah,

Having a hotkey error is one of the most disturbing and annoying problem one could ever have.

But we are here to help; first you need to know if the problem is software or hardware.

Right click on you’re my computer icon and click manage > Device Manager > keyboards, you can see there if your system has the driver keyboard installed and its driver version.

Try to search for the updated driver online and install it again. Since your keyboard is not working you can use on screen keyboard to do that. To get to your on screen keyboard, go to windows Icon on your lower left corner, click all programs > accessories > ease to access > on-screen keyboard.

After you download, install it and restart. If after installing the driver and it’s still not fix, then the problem should be in your hardware. I suggest you take it to your nearest PC store and have them check your system.

Thanks
