Hi,

I want to find some information about Manufacturer, Model type, Serial number, Headset brand, Handset model, Frequencies.etc.. for example: I’m using Nokia NXX and my IMEI is 35267704721184X. and someone said that we can ask Mobile Service Provider to block my phone registering with another Mobile Service Provider, when it’s stolen. Is that correct?

Best regards.

International Mobile Equipment Identity or IMEI is a unique identification number for mobile phones, usually for GSM, WCDMA and/or some satellite phones. IMEI can be found at the back of the GSM handset or by dialing *#06# and is usually 15 digits long.

There are Samsung mobiles that has a feature called 'mobile tracker' which is helpful for lost handsets. When mobile owners choose to activate this service, they will be ask to enter their preferred recipients for an SMS that contains their name and the IMEI of the phone.

Once a new sim card has been placed on the phone, it will automatically send a text to the chosen recipients and it may contain the number of the new sim card that was inserted.

The original owner can request to block the phone from their network providers and the phone will become useless. You may also contact your network provider for additional information.
