How to filter spam using MS outlook?

I was a Microsoft Outlook user for a long time but I noticed that it allows quite a lot of spam even after updating. To address this, I tried using Zone Alarm Junk Mail with Microsoft Outlook.

The problem is that the Zone Alarm Junk Mail notifies me of new messages even if they are classified as Spam. On the other hand, this does not happen when I deactivate the Zone Alarm Junk Mail feature and use Outlook’s Spam Filter instead.

Does Outlook have a feature that would remind me of things so I won’t forget them? If none, is there an alternative third party utility that I could use?

I hope anybody who knows about MS outlook can give me suggestions.

Thank you.

Hello Richard,

The best way to deal with spam is to block it even before it gets to your email box. Have a spam filter on your email get a way or server. To configure the spam filter settings go to tools menu and click options then click Junk emails on the preference tab.

This will open the Junk Email dialog box and here there are four spams blocking levels to choose from. The options are: No automatic filtering, low, High and safe lists only. You can start by trying the High setting and monitor your Junk Email's folder for a few months.

If this does not work well for you then you may install SPAMfighter, for home use it is free of charge. This test mails whenever they arrive. Now you have two options to choose from.

Spam is really annoying. You'll receive an email in 1 or multiple times in a single recipient. The worse thing is, this won't stop not unless you press that spam button on Microsoft Outlook.

The bad thing is, even if you have already reported the email as spam, they will always find ways to send you spam email using a different address.

Microsoft Outlook has this feature to filter all spam and it'll be stored in a spam folder. This can be activated in Outlook.

Go to Tools, Options.
Tick on the Options says High.
"Most Junk e-mail is caught but some regular mail may be caught as well. Check your junk email folder often.
Click Apply and click Ok button.

These steps activate the spam filter options however, there will still spam email that goes into your Inbox without being detected by spam filtering options.

You can download the software called Free Spam Filter for Outlook. This Spam Reader 3.0 is a feature free to filter spam email messages created in Microsoft Outlook. This auto-detect spam updated in the white list. It is created using Bayesian Algorithm that is capable of detecting 9% spam messages. Plus, this supports POP3, IMAP, and HTTP mail accounts on different types of email client, namely Microsoft Outlook 2000, 2003, 2007 and 2010.
