Is it possible to easily convert InDesign to word? It would be very useful if there is a straightforward method to open an InDesign file from Word, I mean without an intermediate converting of indesign to pdf then from pdf to Word.

Hello,
Open the document in InDesign and from the File menu choose Save. Select PDF format for saving, by clicking at the format option. Now open saved PDF file in Adobe Acrobat. If you have Adobe Acrobat version which you can read and edit go to Save from File menu and select .doc format for saving. If you have just readable version from Adobe Acrobat, you can save your PDF file in .txt format. In this case you can copy/paste from .txt to .doc or use some .pdf to .doc converter.Â

The common way of converting InDesign to a Word document is to first convert it a pdf and then to a word document. But there are methods if you don't want to use any intermediate. One simple way of doing this is select all the text in a one paragraph and copy it and paste it in your word document. And then export all the images manually and insert it in to word. To export images that are not compatible with word like vector graphics you need to first export it as a JPG and then insert it in to the word document.

The second method what I prefer is to you need to install a good converting tool to your computer. This kind of software doesn't often come freely. So you need to buy a one. I’m recommending buying ID2Office tool which can convert InDesign directly to Word. There is a trial version also available and you can get a brief idea by using it.
