Downloading any video over the internet using Firefox is easy using the download helper add-on from Firefox download site.

Click add to Firefox to add it as an add on.
After Firefox restart you will now notice an icon beside the address bar.
This is the video down loader.
This will be activated when it detects video being played on the browser.
You will notice several un identified names you can distinguish which one is the video you are viewing when you notice its on bold FONT here is a YouTube video where there are several versions of the video from SD to 360 p resolution.
Click one you desire then click save. whatever you download it can be played using VLC Video player which is very popular because it can play almost every known video format ever made.
