I need a tutorial on how to upload a video on YouTube. I just created my account on YouTube. I have an mpeg video file that I would like to upload but I only want my friends to see it. Is there a privacy setting on YouTube? Do I still have to convert my video before upload and can I also upload multiple videos simultaneously?
Actually, the videos on your YouTube account can be restricted from public viewing and only the username or email address you choose will be able to view the videos you uploaded. If you have already uploaded videos to your channel, you can change the privacy settings of your video from the Video Manager. Log in to your YouTube account then click on the small inverted triangle beside your username to display the dropdown menu. Click Video Manager then hit Edit beside the video you uploaded.
The next page shows you the options on how to edit the information on your video. You can give new title, change the description of the video, add or remove tags, change its privacy settings, and move it to a different category. Since you want your video to be restricted from public viewing, in Privacy Settings select Private. Enter the email address or the YouTube username of the people you will only allow to view the video. Lastly, click “Save changes” to save the changes you made.
To upload a video you must be using one of the formats: “.mov”, “.mpeg4”, “.avi”, “.wmv”, “.mpegps”, “.flv”, “.3gp”, and WebM format. For new users who are not yet verified, all your video uploads are only limited up to 15 minutes of playtime. To extend the limit of the video, you need to verify your YouTube account. To do this, click the Upload button on top of the page then click the link “Increase your limit”. Follow the succeeding steps after.
