I have a 16 GB Samsung Galaxy S that has the Hummingbird chipset, 1 GHz Cortex-A8 CPU and upgraded Android 2.3 Gingerbread.  Ever since the OS upgrade, I lost the text message icon and text messages.  Is there a way to recover Galaxy S lost texts?

Hi Christopher,

Here I will suggest to you.Well,it's possible to recover deleted all texts and messages on your Samsung Galaxy S.If you see this text, make sure that you are not using your Samsung Galaxy S,this is to increase the chance of data recovery.Continue using will causes data over written which will make mobile phone data recovery harder. Here's a cell phone data recovery guide you can follow http://www.asoftech.com/articles/mobile-phone-data-recovery.html.

I hope this could help you.

Hi Christopher,

Recovering lost text messages from your phone depends on how old those text messages are against the ratio of new messages or data in your phone. So as we may know, your Samsung does not actually “delete” it per say instead it keeps it in the background waiting for it to be replaced with a new data. So if you feel that there’s not much data added to your phone since the messages disappeared and you are willing to shell out a couple of bucks then you may try to use Wondershare Dr.Fone for Android.
