I'm using a 15-inch MacBook Pro with OSx Mountain Lion. I'm using MAMP that came with MySQL. The default MySQL port is 3306 but seems like MAMP is running on port 8889. How do I port in PHP 8889 MySQL?

The MAMP is one of the best software applications for Mac which can host your websites locally. Here are the steps on how you can change the Apache and MySQL port on your MAMP.

Click on the preferences panel, and this box will pop up:
