I just installed Kingsoft Office Suite as an alternative to MS Office as it is free. It also uses just 252mb of disk space. It says it can open .DOC, .DOCX, .PPT, .PPTX, .XLS, .XLSX files from Office. What about .odf files? If so, how do I open odf file in Kingsoft Office Suite?

I am afraid you can not open an .odf file using Kingsoft Office Suite.
Kingsoft Office Suite does not support that format.
It can open the following file formats
-
Kingsoft Writer File (*.wps, *.wpt)
-
Microsoft Office 97-2003 (*.doc, *.dot)
-
Microsoft Office 2007-2010 (*.docx)
-
Rich Text Format (*.rtf)
-
Text (*.txt)
-
HTML (*.html, *.htm)
-
Single Web Page File (*.mht, *.mhtml)
And export the following file formats
-
Kingsoft Writer File (*.wps, *.wpt)
-
Microsoft Word 97-2003 (*.doc, *.dot)
-
Rich Text Format (*.rtf)
-
Text (*.txt)
-
HTML (*.html, *.htm)

Single Web Page File (*.mht, *.mhtml)

In order to open an .odf file you could use either LibreOffice or OpenOffice are free and open source software.
