Hello,

1. Install Windows into your computer.

2. After you install windows into your computer then install Linux into another portion.

3. Most modern Linux operating systems using GRUB which is for distribution of Linux operating system.

4. GRUB automatically detects both operating system and it will automatically create the menu for you to choose whichever operating system you want.

Thank You,

John Major.

Hi Peter Jackson,

If you want to dual boot windows and Linux and have a windows installed, just get a copy of any Linux distro that you want to install like Ubuntu, LinuxMint, Fedora among others and burn it to a cd or you can also use a USB.

Then in your windows OS, using disk management shrink a partition and enter the amount of space you would like to allocate to Linux. Then set the first boot device to boot on the device media where your Linux installation file is.

And install the Linux OS.

You may check this link for a detailed guide and step by step installation of Linux.

Hope this will help you.

Feel free to ask if you have any clarifications.

Thanks
