Hello there.  I just installed the Google Chrome Adblock Plus add-in for blocking those annoying ads.  I launch Google Chrome and go to YouTube but the ads still pop up.  Is there a setting for this?  How do I correctly install ADP for Google Chrome?  I have Google Chrome 27.0.1453.73.

If your Adblock plus does not work, check your right filter subscription.

  • To check go menu (right corner) ->settings->Extensions
  • In extensions you will find Adblock plus.
  • Under this click option button to open menu.
  • In the menu there are installed & enable filter lists.
  • To add a new subscription,
  • Click Add filter subscription-> select your filter list-> add

If your filter subscription is right, then you should report.
To report use the feature “report issue on this web page”
When it will ask about the problem, choose “Adblock plus does not block an advertisement”.
Your report will be sent automatically to the maintainers.

If you want to get rid of those annoying ads when you visit a website with your Google Chrome, try using Disconnect instead. It is way better than the ad blocker you are installing. Disconnect is available as plug-in to major web browsers like Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, and Opera. See if this plug-in suits you.

Another way of browsing the internet without seeing any ads is using the Opera browser. The latest Opera browser has a built-in ad blocker that you simply need to enable to allow the browser to block ads. The built-in ad blocker is disabled by default. You need to enable it if you want to use it.

To enable the built-in ad blocker, in Opera browser, press ALT + P to go to “Settings”. In the “Settings” screen, in “Block ads” section, click the slider next to “Block ads and surf the web up to three times faster” to activate the built-in ad blocker.

This enables the built-in ad blocker on every website by default. If you need to disable the ad blocker for a particular website for some reason, just click the blue “X” icon on the far end of the address bar to bring up the ad blocker settings then click the blue slider to disable the ad blocker for that particular website.

The next time you visit that website, no ads will be blocked. To download the latest, go to Opera for Windows. The latest version at the moment supports Windows 7, Windows 8.x, and Windows 10. Opera dropped support for Microsoft Windows XP and Microsoft Windows Vista.
