I have a MacBook Pro that has the 2.4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7 processor, 8 GB RAM, 1 GB Nvidia GeForce GT 650M Graphics Processor and OSx Mountain Lion. How do I change Mac preview slideshow speed in Slideshows?

How are you doing? Hope everything is well. Its funny how apple, a leading company in the Information Communication Technology field, have such a simple slideshow feature on such a complicated machine.
The answer to your question is no. You will have to download another presentation application. There are numerous softwares that serve this purpose but the best and the one I would recommend you to have is iPhoto.
With this application, you can specify settings that will affect an entire slideshow like:
How long each slide will appear
Which transition effect will appear between the slides,
Whether or not to display captions.
Also, you can specify different and unique durations and transition effects for specified slides. You may also add motion to a photo in your slideshow.
