To change the drive letter of a drive that already has a drive letter assigned to it, you first need to have Administrative access to the computer. Click on Start then click on Control Panel. Look for Performance and Maintenance and open it by double clicking on it.

Choose Administrative Tools and double click Computer Management. Another way to open Computer Management is to look for a My Computer icon in your Desktop, do a right click on it then choose Manage.

In Computer Management choose Disk Management from the left.

Right click on the drive that you want to have the drive letter assignment changed and then click Change Drive Letter and Paths.

Choose Change then click Assign the following drive letter and choose the letter you want to use this time then click Ok.

Click Yes.

Restart the computer.
