I've lost a lot of game discs in Wii a couple of times. And now I've learned the lesson — backup the game disc. I don't want to waste my money on my existing games. I need a little guidance. How do I backup Wii disk to ISO Ubuntu OS? What are the steps that I must follow and what do I need?

Hello,

You can create an ISO image easily from your CD/DVD in the Ubuntu OS by simply doing the following steps:

1. Insert the CD/DVD which you want to make an ISO image of.

2. Open a terminal window.

3. Now execute this command:

cat /dev/scd0 > /home/shamanstears/test.iso

Where “dev /scd0” is the device name for your drive. (In order to find this, go to the “Main Menu” > “System” and mouseover “Administration” then select “System Monitor”. Click the “File Systems” tab. The device name will be listed in the Device column.) Be sure to change the path and ISO filename to the desired path and filename.

The disc will begin to spin and the ISO image will start being constructed. Once it has completed, you have an ISO image of your CD or DVD. In order to verify the image was properly created, mount the ISO file and check the contents.

Have a nice day.

Best of luck.

Hello Nickerson

You can create an ISO image from your CD / DVD in UBUNTU OS by simply doing the following steps

>>>Insert a blank CD / DVD.

>>>Open a terminal window.

>>>Then implement this command:

   cat /dev/scd0 > /home/shamanstears/test.iso

where dev /scd0 is the device name of the drive (to find this, go to the main menu >>>system mouse >>>>> Administration and select System Monitor. Click the File Systems tab. device name shown in Device column). Be sure to change the path and name of the ISO file to the desired path and filename.

The disc starts spinning and the ISO will begin to be built. Once finished, you have an ISO image from CD or DVD. In order to verify that the image was created correctly, mount the ISO file and check the contents.

Have a nice day

Best of luck
