I’ve harddisk smart setting enabled and constantly get false error warnings. I’m sure about these warnings being false, because I researched in this area. So, is there someone who would help me to disable harddisk smart setting from bios?

Hi,

You have mentioned that you are getting constantly error message warning as you have enabled smart setting of the hard disk. How did you come to know that the error message is throwing from the enabled smart setting? It may be thrown from any number of reporting tools. Now you want to disable hard disk smart setting from the BIOS.

Yes you can do that removing the jumper and/or the battery from the motherboard which is not recommended for a motherboard. Rather you can check all startup programs and I think such error message has been initiated from the startup tools.

I hope you understand it.

Hi Brenta,

You should follow the steps given below:

> Power on or restart your computer.

> Press F2 key when you see the BIOS prompt text appear on the screen.

> Navigate the BIOS menu using your arrow keys and use the on- screen legend for reference on how to change the setting. Look for a menu titled “Hardware”,”Hard disk”.

> Highlight the SMART option and set it to “Disable” or “Off”.

> Choose “Save and Exit”.

> Select “Yes” or press “Y” when the BIOS asks you to confirm your choice.

Thanks.
