Hello,

I have two partitions in my drive, C and D and when I right click the drive D, I clicked the 'Turn on Bitlocker' just to give a try what happens.
Now my problem is, every time someone uses the computer, I need to unlock it because the games are not accessible.

I want to completely remove it to avoid hassle but I can only unlock it but not totally remove.

Can help me how to disable it?

Thanks.

The BitLocker Drive Encryption helps you to serve as a protection on the drives of our computer (D,C and removable drives). BitLocker can also help block intruders from accessing the system files.

If you add files to drives with BitLocker, BitLocker encrypts them automatically. Overall, the tool is very useful but unfortunately it will not be included in the Home Premium Editions of Windows 7. You have to go with other version to get this.

So, How to disable it?

1. Go to the search menu and type bitlocker;

2. Open the BitLocker Drive Encryption Program;

It will ask for a confirmation: “Your drive will be decrypted. This may take considerable time. You can monitor the status of your drive decryption.”

3. Just proceed by clicking Decrypt Drive;

4. Just wait until decryption is complete.

Have a coffee and enjoy.

Hi Papadodz10,

You can only unlock Bitlockerand not turned it off because your computer has been installed with windows 7 professional on a hard drive that was previously encrypted with Bitlocker on a Windows 7 Ultimate.

During the installation process the main hard disk partition to install Windows 7 was deleted.

But your data is still stored on the encrypted partition. I would suggest you to decrypt all the data that was encrypted before disabling Bitlocker, try the following steps to see if that helps.

Note: This section contains steps that may lead data lost. So, make sure you backup all the data before continuing further with this section.

To suspend BitLocker Drive Encryption on your operating system drive.

1. Click start, click Control Panel, click System and Security, and then click Bitlocker Drive encryption.

2. Click Suspend Protection for the operating system drive.

3. You will see a message displayed, informing you that your data will not be protected while Bitlocker is suspended and asking if you want to suspend Bitlocker Drive Encryption. Click Yes to continue and suspend Bitlocker on your drive.

To disable Bitlocker Drive Encryption.

1. Click start, click Control Panel, click System and Security, and then click Bitlocker Drive encryption.

2. Find the drive on which you want Bitlocker Drive Encryption disabled, and then click turn off Bitlocker.

3. You will see a message displayed, informing you that the drive will be decrypted and that the decryption may take some time. Click Decrypt the drive to continue and disable Bitlocker on your drive.
