I know that rem files are encrypted files. Is there a tutorial or software available that helps you how to convert from rem to jpg files? The only solution I know is to send the pictures to facebook or email but it takes up a lot of time. Hope you can help.

Thank you!

You can have the required jpeg file by using one of the following two techniques:

  • If the pictures are on Memory Card then goto OPTIONS > MEDIA CARD > Encrypt Media Files > NO similarly,

OPTIONS > MEDIA CARD > Encryption Mode > NONE. If the pictures are in some other device (other than media card) follow

the same steps by navigating to options of the folder in which pictures have been stored.

  •  By Sending your REM pictures to email and then save them as jpeg.

Sabrina, dear, the second way is to open up the BlackBerry program Desktop Manager, and use the "Media Manager" application that is on there.
When you connect your device to your computer with DM (Desktop Manager) running, it will ask you for your device's password, and after successfully entering it, it will decrypt the files, which basically means that it will remove the .rem extension that is causing your problem. This is for when you are transferring files to your desktop from the device/SD card.
Alternatively, you can just go into the Options -> Security Settings menu, hit General Options, and disable Content Protection. Restart your device by powercycling/hard reboot, and reconnect to your computer. Thanks, I hope this helps.
